Bangkok, city of.... everything

Here we are. Finally. There is no way to describe this place. Everything is built on everything, gorgeous skyscrapers in the middle of the darkest slums. Its insane. I will upload some pictures soon. Right now we are sitting at Old German Bierhaus and are about to savour a cold beer and a pizza for nachtspizze. Yes, in bangkok, didn't see that one coming.

Anyway, ofcourse the hotel we booked was full but for a little more cash we could get a room (incredibly enough), but we decided to change hotel. Which was a good plan. Now we are staying at the grand presidential apartments luxury suite on the top floor for all of 34€ per nght. The room is huge with air conditioning, cable, internet, own fridge and bar, 2 rooms with bathtub etc. Fotos coming soon. Once i get them uploaded.

We also went to the local mall, which is at least 10 times as large as stockmanns, and 100 times more crowded. I got a fair deal on an ixus 60 with a 1gig card so i took it.

To end on a light note, we where walking back from the skytrain station and a local asked us if we would like to "byfoddforthefant?", all of a sudden i saw a large shadowy mass right behind him, it was an elephant, yes, an elephant, living breathing and smelling so bad it could knock a buzzard of a shit truck 100 yards away. In the middle of the crowded sidewalk, thats when we realised he wanted us to buy food for his elephant. Nobody actually took any notice of the huge animal except for us. Insane.

We also enjoyed a night swim in the pool.

Anyway, fotos are being taken... and uploaded as we speak, as soon as i get the damn camera working.

Biss Später!

Tomorrow we are off to the royal palace for a genuine thai massage performed by monks :D (no happy ending, you can bet on it, not for me, or the monk)
