Taipei arrival and quick departure.

The flight was long and uncomfortable partly due to the still nagging lack of sleep and hangover but also the fact that it was headed for LA after Taipei. Hurray for full body search, confiscation of all liquids (one bottle of vodka that was a gift for our buddies, andreas aftershave, waterbottle, sunscreen, toothpaste). We finally landed at 19:50 local time, customs and baggage claim was slightly slower than KL. We headed to the tourist info to enquire about a hotel, which was something we ofcourse didn’t have. It’s strange how the “internet rate” rooms are all taken, every time, without fail. We got a cheap hotel and a very expensive taxi ride into town (Mercedes 500 limo baby!!!)
The hotel was as close to a shit-hole as anything I’ve ever seen, complete with roaches and other insects. We had dinner and went to bed. The next morning we got on the train at Taipei station which was despite most signs being in Chinese, fairly easy. The train ride was very good. The train was clean and modern, this combined with beautiful scenery made it a good ride. At 14:20 we arrived in Kaohsiung with some butterflies in our stomachs.

Rant of the day:

The hotel room sucked huge donkey b***s! Airline regulations for the US suck!

The taxi ruled those donkey b***s!
